DOWNEASTER BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION
 
Join us on Saturday, December 14,2002 at the Portland Transportation Terminal (Exit 5 of I295) from 12 noon till 2PM to celebrate the success of the Downeasters first year of operation.  The event will also celebrate the Toys for Tots Program.

Members of the public who bring an unwrapped toy to the station beginning at noon will receive one Round-Trip Ticket on the Downeaster to be used that day on trains 684 and 687.  (Departing at 2PM from Portland and Departing Boston at 11PM - on the 14 th only.)

12 NOON - The special "Ticket office" will open at the terminal for people to get their tickets.  
U.S. Marines will accept toys from the public, Kiss 99.9 Live Broadcast begins.
Birthday Cake cutting for attendees, Balloons, Salty Pete, Slugger, Santa and Prize give-aways

1PM - Birthday celebration, with comments from representatives of the Northern New England Passenger Rail Authority, TrainRiders/Northeast and the United States Marine Corps.

1:45PM - ALL ABOARD!  "Toy Passengers" and Marines board the Downeaster

2PM - Train Departs
