2ND ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION

TrainRiders/Northeast will celebrate the 2nd Anniversary of Downeaster Passenger Rail Service at 12 Noon Monday, December 15, 2003 in the Portland Transportation Terminal, 100 Sewall St., Portland, Maine.  Members of the media and the public are encouraged to join us.  Press kits (as well as refreshments) will be available at the celebration.  Celebrations will also be held that day at the Dover, Exeter, Durham and Wells stations.

The Downeaster passenger rail service was inaugurated on December 15, 2001.  Since that time it has carried close to 600,000 passengers in comfort and safety.  In November of this year the Downeaster achieved a 92.6% on-time performance record - the highest in the nation.  Join with us to cut the cake and enjoy one of the best Amtrak passenger service in the United States.
