And Now - TEN TRAINS A DAY!

Back in 1989, TNE's original passenger rail proposal requested 6 trains per day - and was offered 3 by federal and state officials.  Skillful negotiations then resulted in 4 round trips.  Since its inception in 2001, 8 Downeaster trains have been run each day between Portland and Boston.

TrainRiders/Northeast participated in the celebratory press conference held by the Northern New England Passenger Rail Authority on Friday, August 17, 2007 that marked the beginning of a 5th Round Trip. Dare we hope for 6?
