During recent years, TrainRiders has provided up-to-date videos for our friends and members. Our first group of videos addresses the long-awaited expansion of Downeaster service from Portland through Freeport to Brunswick. A $35 million dollar federal grant has made the rehabilitation of the Pan Am right-of-way possible.

I watched the final statements by the leadership in both the House and the Senate...they were quite articulate.

Some of those who voted for the bond were uncomfortable with the amount and doubtful that the 'investment' would succeed but considered it a 'necessary evil.'

Others expressed regret that the bond package had been reduced but agreed that something was better than nothing.

Sounds like the perfect definition of "compromise."
